about

"Kalhu's Lullaby" can easily be considered to be a mini album, basically a droning intermezzo between "MLK" and the next full-length release, an album called "Pazuzu".

This is 3 piece album, consisting of "Nimrud I", "Nimrud II" and "Nimrud III". All three parts are parts of the same story, a bassy, droning, low end one.

This mini album was inspired by MW's vision of Nimrud's streets. Nimrud or as it was called back in ancient times, KALHU, is old Assyrian city of which only a ruins remained. It was built on river Tigris in modern day Iraq. It was famous for its monumental statues of oxes and lions which weighted even more than 27 tons each.

"Kalhu's Lullaby" is droning story of strange melodies, ancient sounds which soothed the dusty streets of Nimrud, sang by ghosts of the past.

Three things need to be mentioned concerning this one:

Some speakers and earphones will not be able to reproduce bass frequencies so well. If you hear strange buzzing, it means definitely you need to listen to this one on some other, better quality sound system or with less bass involved.

Occasional cracking similar to vinyl cracks is completely natural and part of the song. It was produced during recording and engineering of the "Kalhu's Lullaby".

Last, but not the least - make yourself a favor and download the whole album in high bitrate and listen to it. The whole album was recorded in a single session and later divided into three parts. Listen to it in one piece and you'll get a perfect picture...
